Specs

Reference specifications for Vancetope internals — engines, services, data model, protocols. Each page is the source of truth for one subsystem.

Browse the sidebar on the left, or use the search box (top right) to jump to a term. Cross-references between specs are linked inline.

If you’re looking for how to do something rather than how a piece works, start with the How-tos section instead.

Reading order

If you’re new to Vancetope and want a tour rather than a reference, start here:

  1. Get started — install and run Vancetope locally.
  2. Concepts — the core vocabulary (engine, recipe, scope, think-process, kit).
  3. Architecture — brain, clients, triggers.
  4. How-tos — task-oriented guides for common workflows.
  5. Then dive into individual specs below.

Translation status

The original specs are written in German under specification/public/ in the source repository. English translations land here as they are completed — what you see in the sidebar is what’s currently translated. The German originals always lead; missing translations are not a content gap, just a translation backlog.

If a German spec exists but you don’t see it here yet, check the source.
